I have been deeply involved in grassroots campaigning since 2010, initially supporting Richard Harrington's successful bid for the seat in Watford. Since then, I have been unwavering in my commitment to participating in mayoral campaigns in London and the West Midlands, as well as local, general, and by-elections both locally and across the country. Whether it's knocking on doors, delivering leaflets, or making phone calls to connect with voters, I find immense satisfaction in knowing that I am actively working to advocate for the best interests of the people of Britain. This commitment to political activism has become an integral part of who I am, and I am driven by a deep-seated desire to contribute to the betterment of society.
In the 1960s, my parents immigrated from India to South Birmingham, establishing this vibrant city as our family's home and the place where I was raised. My formative years were spent attending a comprehensive school in Birmingham, and in the 1990s, I pursued my passion for law by studying at the University of Wolverhampton.
During the 1980s, I had the privilege of observing and learning from my father, who was deeply committed to serving the community. He was a trailblazer in fostering inter-faith connections within the city, dedicating himself to the noble cause of bringing people from diverse faith backgrounds together to cultivate mutual understanding and cooperation for the greater good. His visionary mission centered on uniting individuals of all faiths in order to build upon shared values and promote a more harmonious society.
Driven by a lifelong passion for vocational skills development, I embarked on pioneering initiatives with regional colleges in the mid-1990s to foster the growth of skills and job opportunities.
Over a span of more than 20 years as a Board Advisor, I orchestrated a remarkable transformation at a Solihull-based training provider, the Institute of British Payroll. Through my strategic leadership, this institution evolved into a nationally recognised body, attaining Royal Chartered Status as The Chartered Institute of Payroll and Pensions and attracting a membership of over 15,000 professionals.
My commitment to advancing vocational education led to my involvement with the Prime Minister’s Apprenticeship Delivery Board beginning in 2016, where I had the honour of serving as a Government Apprenticeship Ambassador. In this capacity, I engaged with leading UK employers to spearhead initiatives aimed at creating skills-based employment opportunities within the dynamic food and drink industry. Furthermore, I was privileged to be a member of the Government's Apprenticeship Diversity Champions Network, where I contributed to efforts to promote inclusivity and diversity within the realm of apprenticeships.
I currently hold key roles of Group Company Secretary and Board Member at Sun Mark Ltd, a leading UK food and drink export company. The only company in the United Kingdom to have won 5 consecutive Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Exports.
Additionally, as the longest-serving Director, I have led the Conservative Friends of India to become the party's most successful and largest affiliate group. I have actively supported leadership campaigns and played a vital role in national and local election campaigns. I look forward to, under the leadership of Kemi Badenoch MP, helping to deliver our priorities and holding the Labour government to account.
In Birmingham, I serve as a governor of King Edward VI Camp Hill Grammar School for Boys and support various community and business groups. Internationally, I was a skills advisor to the office of the late Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Finance Minister, championing pioneering initiatives of skills development and women empowerment in the UAE In India, I introduced pioneering employer labour law compliance programmes in collaboration with the largest employers across the country. I also supported free education for children who sadly lived in slums in conjunction with the wife of the Vice President of India.
